$15.00Price

Not So Dirty Girl Wool Shampoo is Dirty Girl Yarn and Fiber's newest product. Made with organic ingredients in the Green Mountain State this shampoo product is ideal for washing hand knits and commercial woolen wear as well as scouring raw wool, reducing surface tension in the dye process, or even washing your own hair (no kidding)!

Not So Dirty Girl Wool Shampoo is unscented, free of parabens, sulfates, and petroleum products.

Ingredients:

Saponified organic oils of coconut, olive, and jojoba with rosemary extract and aloe vera.

Made in Vermont.

Instructions for use:

For washing hand and commercial knits, add a capful of Not So Dirty Girl Wool Shampoo to a bowl or basin of lukewarm water. Soak knit wear for a few minutes and rinse with the same temperature water. Squeeze excess water gently and lay flat to dry.

Can be used to spot clean.

For scouring raw wool,

Do a preliminary hot water soak of the raw wool. Heidi lets her raw wool only soak for a few minutes, and will do a secondary soak for particularly dirty fleece. Use the hottest water available from the tap. Drain the water and squeeze as much excess water out of the fleece as possible. When washing a pound of wool, apply approximately one ounce of Not So Dirty Girl Wool Shampoo directly to the wet wool and work the shampoo through the wool as if washing your own hair. Just like washing your own hair, you'll know when it's clean! A second wash may be necessary for fleece with high lanolin content or dirty fleece. Rinse with hot water and allow to air dry.

Please note: this is Heidi's tried and true method for washing fresh, healthy raw fleece and may not be the appropriate way to wash fleece that are damaged or slightly cotted.

Other uses:

human grade shampoo and body wash, pet shampoo, general cleaning agent (Heidi washes her studio sink, glass stovetop, and countertops with the product regularly), washing your handspun yarn to set the twist, reducing the surface tension in your dye bath, the list goes on!
